Welcome from Principal Fuentes

Dear Edison Families and Community,

I am honored to serve as principal and excited to welcome both returning and new families to our school community. At Edison, we are proud to be a Kindergarten through 4th grade school dedicated to creating a nurturing environment where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to learn.

Our vision is to develop empathetic learners who care for themselves, their peers, their school, their community, and our planet. We believe that students thrive when they feel a strong sense of belonging while being challenged to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

This year, we remain committed to maintaining high expectations and providing high levels of support for every student. We believe all children can achieve at high levels when they are surrounded by caring adults who believe in their potential and provide meaningful opportunities to learn, think critically, solve problems, and persevere through challenges.

One of the many things that makes Edison special is our commitment to learning beyond the walls of the classroom. Our garden program provides students with hands-on opportunities to explore science, sustainability, nutrition, and environmental stewardship while developing a deeper connection to the world around them. Through our partnership with the zoo, students engage in authentic learning experiences that spark curiosity, inspire discovery, and help them understand their role as caretakers of our environment and community.

At Edison, we are preparing students not only for academic success, but also to become compassionate leaders and engaged citizens. This work is only possible through the strong partnership between our families, staff, and community. Together, we create the conditions that allow children to thrive.

As we begin this school year, I want to thank you for entrusting us with your children. We are excited for the opportunities ahead and look forward to partnering with you throughout the year.
